Dance Artistry Academy, founded and directed by Ipswich Born dancer Kayla Fritz. Built with knowledge, experience and industry professionals to bring the joy and passion to the next generation of dancers. Our motto is everyone deserves a chance to dance so with world wide knowledge and experience we built this foundation of a safe space for dancers of today.
Kayla Fritz - I was born and raised in Ipswich, where I was dancing before I could walk, grew up in the competition world traveling around to just perform on stage. Through years of training by the age of 15, I decided it was something I wanted to do as a career. So, at 17 years old, I attended full-time training in Brisbane to get myself industry ready, and then bam, I didn't look back and spent 13 years traveling the world performing and dancing. From bollywood movies, princess cruises, Joffrey Ballet NYC, to Vegas, and more, I loved every minute of it.

Technique Class here at dance artistry we have a technique based class where conditioning, strength and flexibility are our key focus. For technique is the foundation of all success.
The Classical ballet syllabus is based on a pedagogy of technique, musicality and artistry. New music has been composed and performed for the progressive grades by Michael Brett, pianist for the Western Australian Ballet Company. The music allows students to fully express themselves and brings out the very best in artistry from each student. It compliments the Major Grade music released in 2014. The Classical Ballet syllabi comprises the Foundation Grades Syllabus, Progressive Grades Syllabus and the Major Classical Syllabus. Pre Ballet offers an introduction into the joy of ballet, the six grades in the progressive levels build strength and technique and The Foundation Grades offer a scaffold on which to prepare and build students strength and performance between each of the progressive grades. These grades are not compulsory but provide a framework that enables the teacher to keep students engaged while working towards the required technique of each progressive level.
The Modern Jazz Syllabus was revised in 2017. It contains an amazing body of work choreographed and developed into a sound progressive, developmental sequence by Rachelle Conroy and Sandra Breen. Some of Australia’s leading artists have contributed their choreography to the syllabus in both exercises and routines. The work is contemporary, technically challenging and a great preparation in all forms of jazz for today’s performance demands. There are 11 Grades plus public performance awards and a Teachers’ Certificate & Teachers’ Diploma. The syllabus caters for children from 4 years up.
The Comdance Tap Syllabus was updated in 2017. The new tap syllabus is a complete training package with graduated exercises, amalgamations and dances suited to the target age group. The Tap Syllabus caters for candidates from 4 years upwards
Join us for our Elite Performance teams where kids can make new friends, learn new skills, and showcase their talents in a fun and supportive environment. Competing in a variety of competitions throughout the year. What better way to improve unity and community in a family environment.
The Theatrical and Performing Arts syllabus is designed to be easy to use and gives teachers a great deal of freedom of choice. It provides a broad framework, which may be adapted to an existing music theatre class or it may provide a completely new training stream. The Syllabus includes dialogue, song, dance, stagecraft, safe dance practice, musical theatre and acrobatics. Renowned musicals are studied at each level.
A soloist takes on an additional class 1:1 with myself or another allocated teacher where their training is 1:1 focused to better improve, technique, discipline, skills and confidence.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, we offer a variety of classes for adults of all levels, in our fitness jazz movement class Friday evenings
